application
My application for permanent residency in Australia has arrived! I've been a temporary resident for the past 2 years so the time has come. There's heaps of paperwork: federal police check, statutory declarations from Darren and from me, statutory declarations from at least 2 Australian citizens or permanent residents, pictures of us together, and lots and lots of certified copies of things with our name and address printed on them. It'll sure be a relief once it's all finished. My due date to turn everything in is the 2nd of October. We went and got a bunch of stuff stamped and signed by a Justice of the Peace yesterday so there's not much left to do before I can turn it all in. I'm not sure if we'll have to go in to the Department of Immigration for an interview again or not. I guess we'll soon find out...

Hey, Nat!
Been there, done that . . . I know how you're feeling - it is rather nerve-wracking, to be sure. But it sounds like you and Darren have gathered all the material you need to to prove your intentions. Fear not -- it'll all be okay!
When I went for my interview at the INS, it was during summer school at IWHS, I told Mr Seay that if I wasn't back in a few hours, then he probably find me handcuffed in the back of a train car on my way north!!
We all had a good laugh -- after!!
Take good care,
Foss
Thanks Foss! I'm pretty sure it's tougher to get the visa thing happening in the US. But I'm still looking forward to being done with it. For sure!
